Sustainability
Environmental
Through the adoption of advanced technology, Fraction helps to reduce emissions & mitigate environmental disruption. Together with our partners, we aim to be stewards of our land.
SUSTAINABLE WATER MANAGEMENT
The ultimate goal is to reduce our footprint & make it simple for our clients to minimize their impact as well.
Fraction embraces automation and technology in every aspect of our operation. Working with partners on initiatives that improve long-term sustainability, gaining efficiencies and lowering emissions.
We actively assess and reduce the environmental impact of projects through initiatives like liner recycling, fuel optimization, and the integration of higher-efficiency pumps and heaters. Our commitment extends from corporate strategy to field operations, ensuring sustainable practices in air, land, and water management.

Fraction’s sustainability protocols have an impact on our environment
We analyze our performance data, refine our methods based on outcomes, and consistently achieve improvements across various metrics each year. In 2022/23, we realized:
- 2.32 MM lbs recycled liner
- 32.8 MM L diesel displaced by natural gas heaters
- 178,000+ L fuel saved by using automation
- 140 mmSCF natural gas fuel saved by using high-efficiency heaters over conventional heaters
- 100% reduction in tank spills with overflow alarms
Trial Success
Enhancing combustion efficiency with Hydrogen technology
Fraction initiated a trial in a joint-venture project using new hydrogen technology on a diesel generator. Results showed significantly enhanced combustion efficiency and fuel savings. This success has led to broader application on pumps and generators, with ongoing optimization efforts to maximize fuel reduction and CO2e avoidance.
Through continual refinement, our team is determining optimal settings for this new, patented technology to optimize our client’s fuel reduction.

Realizing Fuel Savings
Since the trial implementation, we have monitored fuel usage, seeing an overall fuel savings of approximately 110-180 litres per day or 10-12%, equating to 180 tonnes of CO2e avoided per year.

Electric Pumps & Automation Technology
Our pumps are monitored by LightSpeed™ and Control Core™ automated technology. Providing remote telemetry and level control monitoring, efficiencies increase, and fuel usages are decreased over 20%.
Electric pumps are continuing to show improvements within our pumping feet. Highly efficient and fueled by natural gas generators, fuel usage is lowered even further.
